A spray-on ceramic sealant, infused with Silicon polymers that bond to the surface and leave a glassy, hydrophobic layer. This is the maintenance-grade version of what detailers use: easy to apply, easy to top up, building protection every time.

Key Features:

  • Silicon polymers bond to the surface and leave a glassy, hydrophobic layer
  • Water beads and runs, dirt gets repelled, and the next wash is now easier
  • Formula tuned to leave a shine like a polish once you're done
  • Builds protection with every application
  • Works on everything the bike's made of: paint, ceramic coatings, chrome, anodised components, plastics and bare metal
  • Made in the UK

Caution: do not spray on brake discs. Avoid extremely hot areas of the bike like exhaust headers.

What's in it?

1. The Shield

A silicone based polymer, similar to that you find in professional ceramic coating. This one carries amine groups along its backbone, which give it a mild positive charge. Painted, anodised and oxidised metal surfaces carry a mild negative charge. So instead of sitting on top of the surface waiting to be rinsed off, the silicone is drawn to it and bonds, laying down a thin, water-repellent film that's slick to the touch.

2. The Activator

A small amount of acetic acid. On its own the silicone won't disperse in water. The acid turns its amine groups into their charged form, which does two things at once: it lets the silicone spread evenly through the water so it sprays as a fine, clear mist, and it switches on the charge that makes it bond to the bike. As the water flashes off, so does the acid, and the film cures neutral.

3. The Carrier

Water. Nothing in The Shield needs a solvent to work, so there isn't one. That's why it can be sprayed on an engine case, a rubber seal or a matte fairing without softening, streaking or hazing. Just don't spray it directly on a warm engine, let it cool and wash first.

Together

The activator makes the silicone sprayable and gives it its grip. The silicone bonds and leaves the shield behind. The water carries both and then gets out of the way. Three ingredients, each with one job, dosed so the film is thin enough to be invisible and bonded well enough to stay.

Instructions
  1. Wash bike first using The Wash (No.01)
  2. Dry or towel dry the bike - apply to a dry or damp surface for best results.
  3. Spray The Shield evenly over all surfaces.
  4. Allow to bond for 60 seconds, then buff with a clean microfibre cloth.
  5. Admire. Ride. Repeat after every wash
